An employee at a nursing home failed to place a wheelchair beside a woman’s bed causing her to fall and suffer a fractured hip and subsequent surgery. Edwin Dunahoe of Dunahoe Law Firm in Louisiana needed a state-of-the-art visual solution for his expert to use in describing the woman’s surgery. The impact was so powerful that the 2D animation helped him in reaching a successful verdict.
Challenge
The Plaintiff in this case fell in a nursing home and fractured her hip. The fall was a result of her wheelchair not being placed beside her bed and was not reported by the employee.
The Defense disputed liability and contended that Mr. Dunahoe could not prove that the wheelchair was not by the bed. A detailed visual aid was needed to support the surgeon’s testimony about the damages suffered by the Plaintiff.

Approach
The primary challenge in this case was to provide proof about the location of the wheelchair, as well as the resulting surgery performed. Mr. Dunahoe was tasked with proving the wheelchair location, however he partnered with MediVisuals + High Impact to develop an additional visual to add to the case that:

Combined colorized X-rays of the injury to connect the reality of the damages to the surgery conducted.

Visually compared the pre-op condition to the post-op condition, with detailed labeling to show the final results.

Result
Sadly, the woman died from her injuries. However, the case did reach a successful verdict with the help of our expertly designed visual solutions.
