John Blumberg obtained a $2.4M verdict for a man crushed between two vehicles - over three times the defense’s largest offer - after the victim suffered multiple painful and complex injuries.
Challenge
The defendant claimed that the injury was the fault of the plaintiff, who allegedly walked between the two vehicles when he was crushed. The defendant also claimed that some of the plaintiff’s injuries were unrelated to this case.
Video surveillance caught the circumstances of the plaintiff’s injuries on camera. Unfortunately, the injury occurred during the time when the defendant’s truck obscured the view.
Liability depended on the jury being able to fully visualize exactly what happened, based on pre- and post-incident positions of the plaintiff. Mr. Blumberg needed a comprehensive and powerful visual animation to illustrate the incident and extent of his client’s injuries.

Approach
Our team compiled data based on the video evidence, medical records, photographs of the scene, and other scientific details to:

Combine a “before” video - the actual security footage - showing the plaintiff standing in one place as the truck moves forward, with our animation during video obstruction, and an “after” video of the security footage that recorded the plaintiff on the ground after the incident.

Show the injuries as the plaintiff suffered them while he was being crushed between the truck and the car, during the time the truck obscured the view.

Illustrate the extent of the injuries from both front and back point-of-view and demonstrate the mechanism of how the plaintiff was crushed.

Result
By using a combination of real security videos and animations, MediVisuals + High Impact helped Mr. Blumberg give the jury a full visualization of what occurred and showed that the defendant was completely at fault for the painful circumstances.
