A veteran with PTSD, who was self-medicating with alcohol, unfortunately passed out in a roadway and was run over by a police officer who was distractedly driving. The man sustained several debilitating injuries that left him permanently disabled with a lifetime of pain. Michael Fisher Esq. from Rush, Hannula, Harkins & Kyler needed a way to communicate the severity of his client’s injuries without overloading the jury with medical information. This is where the medical illustrators at High Impact came in to create a presentation of the summary of injuries that helped Mr. Fisher secure a jury verdict in his favor.
Challenge
Since the Plaintiff was intoxicated, the Defense argued that they had no liability for the damages. However, the myriad of injuries the man suffered could have been completely avoided if the officer was looking at the road and not at his computer. With the sheer amount of injuries his client suffered, Mr. Fisher needed a summary of injuries presentation that was easily digestible to a jury that had no medical knowledge. Mr. Fisher turned to High Impact to create medical illustrations that detailed every injury in a way that would not deluge the jury with information.
