The animation outlines the spinal trajectory of the neck as a diver’s head strikes the seafloor. The force between the impact and the body compresses the cervical spine, fracturing three vertebrae and severely damaging the victim’s spinal cord. All other details about this case are confidential.
The award marks MediVisuals + High Impact’s second consecutive year of success at the AMI Awards. In 2018, we won three Salon Awards of Excellence and an Award of Merrit for work that included a virtual reality exhibit demonstrating vision defects; a Digital Injury Summary showing a head injury; and a Cinematic Summary of Injuries (CSI) that captured a bullet traveling through a victim’s skull; and a malpractice animation that we cannot yet publish.
