Clifford Law Offices obtained a $101M verdict for a young boy who suffered a severe brain injury during birth that has left him with the inability to walk, talk, or care for himself. Challenge

The mother was admitted to the hospital with her baby showing no movement, a critical sign of distress that the baby may be conserving energy and oxygen to survive.

Despite an ultrasound showing the baby’s lack of movement, nurses neglected to report the baby’s critical condition to a doctor as it continued to deteriorate. Furthermore, the baby’s fetal monitoring strip went ignored for six hours and was even shut off for the sixth hour.

Shortly after the fetal heart monitor was turned back on, the baby went into a terminal bradycardia. An emergency C-section was finally ordered, and the baby was diagnosed with irreversible brain damage.

Together we collaborated on building a visual presentation that would achieve the following objectives:

Visualize a timeline charting prolonged periods of negligence in which the ultrasound went unreported and the fetal monitoring strip was ignored.

Establish that all evidence indicated that this was a healthy, normal baby throughout its entire pre-natal development - up until this period of negligence.

Show the depth and magnitude of injury this baby’s brain suffered as a result of this prolonged negligence.
