When a guest passenger in a medical transport was struck by a van, Digger Earles, Esq., of Laborde Earles Law Firm sought justice for the victim. With the help of our medical animations, they achieved a successful $3.9 million dollar jury verdict.
Challenge
The injury the Plaintiff sustained caused painful pressure on his spinal cord. He would need epidural steroid injections to manage the pain radiating through his neck, and he would ultimately undergo C1-3 posterior cervical fusion and C3-7 anterior discectomy with fusion.
While it may be difficult to comprehend the vicious pain suffered by this underlying injury, the animation proved effective at helping the jury not only see how the spine was harmed, but also understand the totality of the damages the Plaintiff experienced during an invasive and traumatic surgery. Approach
Digger Earles, Esq., needed a visual presentation that would show how the injury had a painful impact on his client’s neck, and the spine surgery he would ultimately need as a result of this injury. High Impact’s medical animators delivered two animations of the Plaintiff’s surgeries that would achieve the following visual objectives:

Show the mechanism of injury within a detailed animation.

Demonstrate the anterior discectomy with fusion and posterior cervical fusion the patient would ultimately undergo.

Illustrate the time and pain the patient would suffer because of the Defense’s actions.

Result
The combination of visuals and Mr. Earles’ expert argument led to a successful verdict of $3.9 million on a $0 offer. With these well-designed animations, Mr. Earles was able to prove that the previous fracture was not relevant in this case, and all of the injuries sustained were due to the incident caused by the Defense.
